Our boundaries are North: 4000 N. Amelia Avenue, South: 3500 N. Mitchell Drive, East: 700 W. 7th Avenue and West: 1100 W. 11th Avenue.
Association Activities
Monthly Board Meetings - Volunteer board members meet monthly to discuss issues and work on projects for the benefit of our neighborhood. These are open meetings and anyone is welcome to attend and join the board. If you are interested in attending, or joining, contact one of the association board members.
Annual General Meeting - A general meeting for all residents is held in the fall and is announced in the newsletter and in flyers prior to the meeting. This event incorporates many of the City’s services. It features guest speakers and is an annual update for our neighborhood. Check out the Picture link to see more pictures of our annual meetings.
Block Watch Program - We work together with the Block Watch Program to reduce crime and improve the quality of life in our neighborhood. This year our neighborhood was awarded a Block Watch Grant. With these grant funds we support this website, painted address numbers on street curbs, and we will be adding dusk to dawn light in the Mitchell Drive alley, continue monthly newsletter, and hold an event promoting Block Watch in the Spring of 2006. Block Watch volunteers are always needed for this simple, but effective program to keep our neighborhood safe by reporting all criminal or suspicious activity to 9-1-1, or Crime Stop at 602-262-6151.
Newsletters – We publish a monthly newsletter that is delivered to your door by our volunteers. If you would like to volunteer for this project, please contact any board member.
E-Mail Alert – We notify residents about breaking neighborhood news. If you would like to be notified, send an email to vkaboom@hotmail.com and be added to our distribution list. Your email address will only be used for notification purposes and all addresses are blind copied so your e-mail address will never become public.
Future Projects — We are currently working with the City of Phoenix and Phoenix College on a project to build an 8 foot wall along the 7th Avenue side that frames our neighborhood. This will be an exciting project that will include many areas of creative efforts from Phoenix College students and alumni.
